1. Acceptance of the terms

By downloading, installing or using the PetigreeCare application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with them, do not use the App. These Terms supplement Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.

2. Description of the service

PetigreeCare is a pet care app for iPhone, iPad and Mac that lets you:

Record your pets with their photo, species, breed, status and identification (microchip, passport, registration)
Keep their medical history, vaccines, allergies, appointments, weight, medications and reminders
Store documents (photos, PDFs or scanned documents) and search their text
View a unified agenda and get reminders for doses, vaccines and appointments
Record GPS walks, food, activity, toys, tricks, boarding stays and expenses
Manage a pantry that estimates when food and other supplies will run out
Keep pedigree and family tree records, and track breeding
Keep a photo and video gallery for each pet
Create PDF reports (medical record, vaccination card, pet-sitter guide) and a printable ID card
Keep a directory of contacts (vets, clinics, breeders, sitters…)
Use widgets, Siri and Shortcuts, Spotlight search and, optionally, Calendar
Export and import a full backup of your data
Sync your data across your own devices through Apple's iCloud

3. Privacy and data

PetigreeCare does not collect, sell or transmit your data to the developer or to third-party servers. The developer has no access to your information. The App has no user accounts and no servers of its own.

All the content you create in the App, including:

Your owner profile (name, email, phone and address, if you enter them)
Your pets' details, health, medications and pedigree
Photos, videos and documents
The routes of recorded walks
The contacts you add to the directory
Expenses, pantry purchases and reminders

is stored on your device. When iCloud sync is on (it is on by default and can be turned off in the App's Settings), the same data is also stored in your private iCloud account and Apple syncs it across your devices through iCloud/CloudKit. This data lives in your personal iCloud container; the developer cannot read it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Text in documents is recognized on the device itself (Apple's Vision framework) so you can search them; that text is never sent to any server.

Device permissions. All are optional, and the App only asks for them when you use the related feature:

Camera and microphone — to take photos, record videos of your pets and scan documents. They stay on your device (and in your iCloud, if enabled).
Photos — to choose photos and documents. With the system photo picker, the App only accesses the items you select.
Location — only to record the route of a walk that you start (iPhone only). While a walk is being recorded, location keeps being used with the screen locked or the App in the background, and the system shows this on screen. Recording stops when you end the walk. The route is saved with your pet's data and is never sent to the developer. To display the map, the App uses Apple Maps, which is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Calendar — optional and off by default; if you turn it on in Settings, the App adds vaccines, appointments and treatments to a calendar named "PetigreeCare" on your device.
Notifications — to remind you of medication doses, vaccines, appointments, reminders and supplies running low. These reminders are created on your device.
Face ID / Touch ID — optional, to lock the App. Authentication is handled by the system; the App never receives your biometric data.

Widgets, Siri and Shortcuts and Spotlight search use a summary of your data that is stored and indexed only on your device.

The App contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and no third-party accounts or sign-ins. It does not use the advertising identifier and does not track you across apps or websites.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

PetigreeCare is free to download and offers these in-app options:

15-day free trial — a free item obtained through the App Store that unlocks every feature for 15 days. It does not renew and never charges you.
Monthly or yearly subscription — auto-renewable subscriptions that unlock every feature while active.
Full Version — a one-time purchase (not a subscription) that unlocks every feature permanently.

When the trial or subscription ends without an active purchase, the App switches to read-only mode: you can keep viewing all your data, but you cannot create or change records. Your data is not deleted.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the period. You can manage or cancel your subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. The developer never receives your payment details. Purchases can be restored on your devices with the "Restore Purchases" option. Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

5. Veterinary disclaimer

Important: PetigreeCare is a tool for organizing your pets' information. It does not replace a veterinarian's diagnosis, treatment or advice. Reminders, next-dose dates, estimates (such as the pantry or breeding predictions) and the reports the App creates are for informational purposes only.

Always follow your veterinarian's instructions on vaccines, medications and doses.
Do not rely solely on the App's reminders for critical treatments: notifications may be delayed or not shown depending on your device settings.
In an emergency, contact a veterinarian immediately.

The developer is not responsible for any harm to your pets' health or any loss that may result from using the App.

6. User responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Keeping your device and Apple Account secure
Backing up your data (with the App's export or device backups). iCloud sync is not a backup: a deletion syncs to all your devices
The accuracy of the information you record
Any third-party details you add to the contacts directory, and having their permission where required
Using the App in accordance with these Terms and applicable law

7. Intellectual property

The PetigreeCare app, including its name, design and features, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

Copy, modify or distribute the App
Reverse engineer the App or attempt to extract its source code
Remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices
Use the App's name or brand without permission

You retain full ownership of all the records, photos, videos, documents and other content you create with the App.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of PetigreeCare shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data or harm to your pets' health, arising from the use of or inability to use the App.

9. Availability and updates

We strive to keep PetigreeCare working and up to date, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device or version of iOS, iPadOS or macOS, or that the App is free of errors. We may update the App from time to time to improve features and fix issues.

10. Termination

You may stop using PetigreeCare at any time by deleting it from your device. Deleting the App does not cancel an active subscription; cancel it from your App Store account settings. These Terms remain in effect while you use the App.

11. Data portability and deletion

You can export all your data at any time to a backup file (.petigreebackup), saved wherever you choose, and import it again.
Pets you delete go to the Trash and can be restored for 30 days; after that they are permanently deleted with all their records.
Deleting the App erases all the data stored locally on that device.
If iCloud sync was on, a copy remains in your iCloud account; you can delete it from Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage on your device.
If you turned on Calendar, you can delete the "PetigreeCare" calendar from the Calendar app or from the App's Settings.
Because the developer stores none of your data, there are no server-side deletion requests to make.

12. Third-party services

PetigreeCare relies only on Apple services and your device's built-in features: Apple's iCloud / CloudKit (sync), the App Store (in-app purchases), Apple Maps (walk maps) and system features such as the camera, photo library, location, calendar, local notifications, Face ID / Touch ID, on-device text recognition, widgets, Siri and Shortcuts, Spotlight, PDF generation and the system share sheet. The App does not integrate with any other third-party service and does not send data to any remote server of the developer.

13. Children's privacy

PetigreeCare is rated 4+ and is intended for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not collect personal information from anyone.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and publish the revised version at this address. Continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer is located, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

By using PetigreeCare, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy.

Privacy summary: PetigreeCare keeps your pets' data on your device and, if you turn it on, in your private iCloud. Nothing is sent to the developer or to third-party servers. No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
